If coaching is something you’ve been considering — as a way to give back, stay connected to your sport, or explore what’s next — the NCCP Coach Education Grant can help you take that next step with confidence and support.
Game Plan, in partnership with the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC), is offering up to $1,000 to support eligible athletes pursuing coach education through the National Coaching Certificate Program (NCCP) between April 1, 2026 and March 31, 2027.
This opportunity is open to Game Plan-eligible athletes at any stage of their coaching journey, and returning applicants and recipients are welcome and encouraged to reapply.
What the Grant Supports

How to Apply
Step 1 – Download the Coaching Pathway Template
Your Coaching Pathway outlines the NCCP workshops you hope to take between April 1, 2026 and March 31, 2027. This is your roadmap – simple, flexible and designed to reflect your unique coaching goals.

Learn how to access NCCP Workshops through your NSO, PSO or PTCR at coach.ca.
Step 2 – Prepare Your Application Materials
You will be asked to upload:
Your resume
Your completed Coaching Pathway template
A reference letter from your NSO, which should reflect their support for your coaching development and may include:
Insights into your potential as coach
Relevant coaching qualifications or experiences
Mentorship opportunities available to you
Any job opportunities that exist through the NSO, PSO, club, or other sport organization upon completion of your certification
Step 3 – Submit Your Application
Applications close March 19, 2026.
Our team may connect with you to discuss your coaching pathway before final decisions are made. Successful applicants will receive the following by April 1, 2026:

An invitation to an orientation session
